P O S I T I O N   B A C K G R O U N D :

Chesley Consulting is seeking a seasoned IT Consultant for our downtown Petoskey, Michigan office. The IT Consultant must have 2-5 years experience with maintaining and working with Windows desktops and laptop computers, as well as familiarity of Windows 2003 through 2008 servers. Candidate should be very comfortable and patient with supporting end users' needs / questions. The position is responsible for performing a variety of network related tasks, coordinated by the Director of Operations. Candidate should be able to work well with minimal supervision, be responsible, flexible, professional, honest, and willing to work with a rapidly growing dynamic technology firm. Strong desktop, server, and network background is required.

P O S I T I O N   D U T I E S :

• Assist with preparing new PCs, servers, and network infrastructure components for our various clients
• Position may require candidate to be "available" 24x7 at times to troubleshoot network / server outages
• Work with various technologies including desktops, servers, printers, network peripherals, virtualizaed environments, and network infrastructure
• Regularly recommend purchases and technologies which will benefit our clients
• Travel to client locations to troubleshoot and maintain client networks and relationships

P O S I T I O N   S K I L L S :

• A minimum of 2-5 years related experience
• Consulting experience and solid consulting skills required including technical writing and presentation skills
• Must demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and networking concepts
• Strong Windows XP, Vista and 7 desktop support skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Strong personal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong hardware installation and troubleshooting skills
• Strong knowledge of Windows XP / Vista / 7 setup and configuration understanding
• Broad exposure to Microsoft Windows 2003 & 2008 server platforms as well as SQL and Exchange
• Have a strong working understanding of Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls, and storage networks
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP routing, subnetting, and Windows/MAC networking
• Knowledge of Ethernet and Fiber cabling requirements

• CompTIA A+ Certification
• Bachelor degree and industry certification including MCSA/MCSE and CCNA are preferred
